The English Education Student Association (EESA) is open to all those currently in, or considering, English Education as a major. EESA is focused on supporting English Education students throughout the program by bringing them together for networking, peer advisement, and professional development.
Sigma Tau Delta is the International English Honor Society. The Alpha Pi Chi Chapter at Buffalo State College was founded in 2009, and recognizes excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service for undergraduate and graduate students. If you would like more information on our chapter, please contact Dr. Lorna Perez, the chapter sponsor.
Every student in the English department is assigned an academic adviser. Your adviser is your best resource for helping you plan your academic course work, as well as connecting you with other campus resources. You can find your academic adviser listed in the upper corner of your Degree Works report. If you need to switch academic advisers, please come to the English Department main office and fill out a change adviser form.
Academic Commons offers workshops, tutoring, and other resources to help students transition and excel at college life.
The Career Development Center is dedicated to helping students fulfill the lifelong pursuit of purpose by providing services, access to information, resources, and experiences that address individual career needs.
The Buffalo State College Student Accesibility Services office is committed to providing access and supports for students with disabilities. We seek to develop strong self-advocacy skills, and prepare students for post collegiate experiences. The Counseling Center is accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services (IACS). The Counseling Center staff consists of ethnically diverse psychologists, social workers, rehab counselors, psychiatrists, interns and support staff (see meet the staff). The Counseling Center dedicates itself to providing students with support, education, and advocacy for their personal and academic success.
