This interdisciplinary study tour explores the ethnic and cultural diversity of Istanbul, Turkey—the bustling, cosmopolitan city that straddles Europe and Asia and was once home to the Byzantine, Roman, and Ottoman Empires. The main objective of this experience is to combine the rigorous academic study of the region’s history and literature with a hands-on experience of Turkish culture.
"Turkish Literature in Translation" and "History of Women and Gender in the Middle East"
Six (6) undergraduate (courses fulfill upper-level English and History requirements as well as Intellectual Foundations requirements).
